Welcome to my blog! I am currently attending the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in hopes of getting my MEd in Deaf Education. I am fascinated with ASL (American Sign Language) and am continually learning new signs and things about the Deaf community. My hope is to post some of the new signs I learn on this site to encourage others to take a piece of the language with them. For all of you who read this who don't feel as if you know a lot, if anything, about being Deaf or the Deaf culture I hope that you will at least remember one thing after you look at my blog - and that is to ALWAYS make an effort with people who are Deaf. Don't be nervous or scared - even if you know little to no sign language. There are so many other ways to communicate and the gesture will not go unnoticed! The only difference between hearing people and Deaf people is that they can't hear. They can do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING they wish to, just the same as a hearing person. We are all human and we are all different from each other - we should embrace these differences and learn from them.
